Introduction

18 05 2009

This is a blog dedicated to the Hall-ians living in Melbourne. Existed because they were living in Malaysia Hall and that was where they met for the first time and bonded until now.

I chose to focus my documentary on this particular community because they are a bunch of wacky, crazy, funnest people I’ve ever met. Each of them are unique in their own ways. . Whoever lives or had lived in the hall is automatically a part of Hall-ians. Regardless of their races and as long as they are from Malaysia. When they were living in the hall, they were obliged to do things together. If there are going to be events held in the hall, they are the ones responsible for everything from organising, cleaning, facilitating, cooking and so on. From there, they create a strong bond with each other. But since Malaysia Hall has been closed for construction work, they have to look for other accomodations. Therefore, they went separate ways. But despite of staying in different houses, studying in different universities, they still do things/activities together. They go for picnics, trips, sports, they hang out and so on. They stick together and even when they go back to Malaysia, they still meet up and have gatherings. Each and every person in this community is a very different individual in terms of interest, hobbies, backgrounds but they used to live under the same roof and that doesn’t bother them at all.
